Creation. Bloomington Offset Process, Inc. (BOPI) began with founders Carroll Cade and Jack Schoenburg printing advertising literature and business collateral in 1947. After quickly growing to a staff of ten within three years, Schoenburg decided to sell his half of the company.

Expansion. Fred and Ned Dolan bought Schoenburg’s share with the intention of expanding the business. A sales manager, Burt Mercier, was hired and expand they did! Within five years sales doubled requiring new equipment and offices. Soon sales doubled again leading to the addition of more staff, equipment and new high-tech services.

Transition. Mr. Mercier’s son, Tom, joined the BOPI team just as Carroll Cade decided to retire. The Mercier’s bought Cade’s stock, along with 25 percent from the Dolan’s and by 1981; The Mercier family owned BOPI entirely.

Revolution. Tom Mercier, after the passing of his father Burt in 1994, led the company into a new digital frontier. Adopting progressive printing technologies and marketing effectiveness solutions, BOPI now offers a wide range of distinctive business solutions including e-commerce, variable data, digital asset management, personalized URLs (PURLs), supply chain management and constant collateral systems
